Percent Time: 100%
Type of Position Regular: A position which is considered essential for the effective long-term operation of the university. Persons appointed to this position will receive the privileges and benefits associated with regular employment status.
Duties:
The University of Iowa Athletics Department seeks applications for an assistant women’s soccer coach. This is a full-time, 12-month position and includes full University benefits.


Responsibilities: Assist the head coach in the coaching and administration of a Division I intercollegiate women’s soccer program; work with staff in preparing for home matches; video analysis; develop and maintain statistical performance records for the program; community outreach; team travel; coordinate on- and off-campus recruiting and other duties as assigned by the head coach.



Education Required:
A Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) is required.

Experience Required:
Three to five years of successful coaching experience at the collegiate or elite club level in the sport of women’s soccer; strong technical and tactical knowledge in teaching and coaching soccer required. Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and a commitment to adhere to all rules and regulations of the University of Iowa, the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA; demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment; superior verbal and written communication skills; effective organization and administrative skills, including proficiency with computer software applications (Microsoft Office or equivalent) required.

Desirable Qualifications:
One to three years of successful head coaching experience at the collegiate, girls’ ODP or elite club level highly preferred; successful coaching experience at ODP and/or high level club preferred. Experience in the development and/or management of social media websites preferred. License with NSCAA (Advanced National or higher) or USSF (B license or higher) preferred. Experience working with video analysis system preferred. Preference will be given to candidates that most effectively meet the athletic development and recruiting needs of the women’s soccer program.
